Square Enix has shared a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4, confirming that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, along with versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
We have not heard anything about the game for a very long time so a new trailer should be exciting. Unfortunately, it appears to be a slightly different version of the announcement trailer, iIt is set in the same location and shows the same giant creature attacking Sora.
Labelled as the ‘Lost Master Arc’, this will kick off a new narrative for the series, which had wrapped up many of the loose ends form the series.
For this new story arc, Sora arrives on a new world of Quadratum – also described as the ‘afterworld’ – a place that has a tone similar to the real world…. just with a horrifying black shape hanging in the sky above the Japan-like cityscape that morphs into a shadowy demonic figure and goes on a bit of a rampage. Of course, Sora leaps into action to try and save the day, his iconic Keyblade and all, grappling with world objects, running up buildings, launching midair attacks and more.
Here’s how Square Enix have described the new tale:
In the announcement trailer, Sora makes a triumphant return with an updated look at the beginning of an epic new storyline titled the “Lost Master Arc.” Beginning with Sora facing off in a boss battle against a giant enemy, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the KINGDOM HEARTS series. Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s well-known companions Donald and Goofy, in addition to the first appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting.
