Brazilian strawweight and UFC star Polyana Viana says she’d like to do cosplay walkouts but the UFC won’t allow it.

Polyana Viana returns to the octagon this weekend for UFC on ESPN 51, where she’ll face off against Iasmin Lucindo at Las Vegas’ UFC Apex. The bout’s set for Saturday, August 12, and will be aired on ESPN and the streaming service ESPN+.

In addition to her prowess at mixed martial arts, Viana is also well known for cosplaying some of her favorite anime characters. Every so often, the strawweight shares photos of these cosplay endeavors on Instagram, one of which shows her decked out in garb inspired by Naruto’s Konan.

While Viana would like to see the two worlds collide, she recently revealed that UFC has strict rules when it comes to walkouts.

UFC star says cosplay walkouts are prohibited

When asked by MMA Junkie if she’d consider walking out wearing cosplay if it was allowed, Viana revealed that she’s actually asked to do so several times in the past.

Viana told the reporter through an interpreter,

“I’ve tried so many times, and I’ve actually asked to come in with a bandana. They’ve never allowed it. I wanted a cape… I’ve tried with like a blank bandana. I can’t. Apparently, Naruto is a brand that does not allow it or something like that. I’ve tried so many times. I’ve asked. They never let me do it, but if I could, definitely I would.”

It’s unfortunate that the organization’s rules prevent the UFC star from living out her anime cosplay dreams. But she’d probably be at home in the wrestling world, given how often WWE and AEW fighters dress up as their favorite pop culture characters.

Jade Cargill famously dressed up as She-Hulk for AEW All Out 2022. Cargill’s also known for entering the arena in attire inspired by Jade from Mortal Kombat. And WWE’s Tommaso Ciampa brought Kratos to the ring for Halloween a couple of years ago.

Charli D’Amelio has stunned fans with her Snow White cosplay for Halloween this year, resulting in her being hailed as a “princess.”

While Halloween isn’t officially until the 31st, many are celebrating the spooky holiday early to cash in on weekend festivities.

Celebrities are no exception; social media is already awash with costumes as big names across the globe jump online to show off their outfits.

Amongst those embracing Halloween is TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, who took to Instagram to share her stunning Snow White cosplay — and her fans have consequently crowned her as a Disney “princess.”

Sporting Snow White’s iconic dress from Disney’s 1938 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Charli completed the look with a long black wig, red heels, and even a little bird prop.

Her take on Disney’s first-ever princess has been well received, the Instagram post garnering already over 189,000 likes in just an hour.

Fans took to her comment section to share their excitement over the cosplay, calling Charli the “prettiest princess” they have ever seen.

“Petition for [Charli] to play snow white in the Disney remake,” one person wrote. Another said, “No matter what costume and outfit [she] wears, everything always looks perfect.”

Charli also showed off her Snow White cosplay with two videos on TikTok, where the reception was equally positive.

One excited viewer commented, “OMG I can’t breathe, she looks so beautiful,”

A Mortal Kombat fan has shared an impressively detailed cosplay of the series’ ravenous and terrifying Mileena.

Mileena is one of Mortal Kombat‘s most recognizable characters, serving as a villain and Kombatant in various games since her debut.

Based on her popularity, it’s no wonder fans would want to cosplay as her. However, her form-fitting outfits and that iconic demon mouth present quite the challenge.

That’s why it’s all the more impressive when someone is able to pull off an accurate Mileena cosplay, such as this one that was recently shared on Reddit.

Reddit user silverberryfrog shared several pictures of their impressive Mileena look, which feature both the character’s distinct mouth as well as the mask she often wears to hide that horrific feature.

The teeth are obviously the focal point of any maskless Mileena look, but the rest of the outfit is equally impressive.

This particular cosplay is based on Mileena’s default appearance in Mortal Kombat 11, in which she appeared as a DLC character. silverberryfrog’s look is pretty spot on with its asymmetric cut, purple gloves, silver gauntlets, sharp nails, and more.

The most significant difference between the cosplay and the actual design is the hair. While this particular Mileena look wears a bob with short bangs, the cosplayer chose a wig with slightly longer hair and longer bangs.

This was an intentional change, as silverberryfrog mentions in a comment that “I decided the little baby bangs did not translate well to my face.”

Fortunately, the cosplayer’s efforts did not go unappreciated.

“Those teeth are genuinely terrifying and I mean that in the best way possible lol,” said one Reddit user. Given Mileena’s canon appearance, that’s a pretty big compliment.

Others praised the cosplayer’s attention to detail, particularly Mileena’s sashes and gauntlets.

While the recently released Mortal Kombat 1 has proven controversial due to its pervasive microtransactions, a messy Nintendo Switch port, and more, fan works like this show that the Mortal Kombat fanbase is still going strong.

A Baldur’s Gate 3 fan shared an impressive Orin cosplay, capturing the breakout character’s gorgeous and ominous demeanor.

Baldur’s Gate 3‘s deep and fascinating characters bring the Sword Coast to life with their stories and personalities. Outside that, though, they simply boast some excellent designs.

Already, cosplayers are taking inspiration from Larian Studios’ massive RPG, with even some of the game’s voice actors getting in on the fun.

However, one of the best looks so far is inspired by a character you may not expect: the villainous Orin the Red.

Reddit user buffmiffy shared the stunning Orin look, which is made all the more impressive by the fact that it is their first time making a cosplay from scratch. buffmiffy credits YouTube tutorials with helping them with the project.

The cosplay nails Orin’s iconic red outfit, along with her long blonde braid, solid white eyes, and various accessories. The makeup also brings to life the distinct skin details along the changeling’s face, arms, and chest.

As for the dagger, buffmiffy says that was 3D printed with the stone “edited in,” as it was missing from the STL file.

The cosplayer’s hard work certainly paid off, as the Baldur’s Gate 3 community seems quite impressed with the look’s strong attention to detail.

“This is probably the coolest BG3 cosplay I’ve seen yet! And I’m shocked that this is your first time. You did amazing!” said one commenter.

Another took it a step further, literally offering themself to Orin saying, “Yeah, just go ahead and take me as your sacrifice.”

As for Baldur’s Gate 3, it was just nominated for eight Game Awards including Game of the Year. Between that and the highly-anticipated Xbox port still planned for this year, Larian’s RPG shows no signs of stopping – which is promising for those who hope for even more impressive fan works like this Orin cosplay.

Pretty much everyone gets a symbiote in Marvel Comics these days. The days of there only being a handful of symbiotes are long behind us, as a bevy of symbiotes and hosts populate the universe.

This also means there are more opportunities than ever for fans to cherry-pick their favorite symbiote character. Be it reading comics, picking up games, or creating fan art, there are so many options to choose from now.

For cosplayers, the possibilities are all but endless. One cosplayer has now shown off an exciting – and terrifying – take on one of Spider-Man’s closest allies and greatest villains united.

Venomized Black Cat cosplay is stunning – and toothy

In a post shared on her Instagram, cosplayer Gracie McClung is showing off her venomized Black Cat. It’s a stunning cosplay that has some teeth to it.

No, there are literally teeth. Dozens of handmade teeth adorn the arms and chest of the costume, making up elements that are typically fur on the Black Cat costume. In a reel shared to her page, Gracie showed off the painstaking process of making each tooth, consisting of triangles being cut, warped and formed under heat.

The rest of the cosplay is incredibly detailed, a black body suit with the classic black suit logo and the trademark white veins that modern Venom incarnations don. A simple domino mask with a similar Venom flourish caps off the outfit.

There is a comic basis for the suit, though it’s not canon to the story. The design is based on an Ariel Diaz variant cover for 2022’s The Amazing Spider-Man #29. Black Cat does wind up wearing the Venom symbiote on Earth-258, as seen in Extreme Venomverse #2, where she bonds with the symbiote after Spider-Man separates from it in the original story.

Black Cat also gets a symbiote in the 2008 video game Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, where she’s a potential endgame partner for Spider-Man, should players choose to go the evil route.

A Dune cosplayer is going viral by recreating one of the sequel’s most iconic sandworm scenes inside of an AMC theater.

Dune 2 has taken the movie world by storm with critics and fans alike hailing Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s legendary science-fiction series.

One fan loved the movie so much he ended up bringing the scene where Paul Atreides first rides a mammoth sandworm to life to the theater in an incredible cosplay spectacle.

In a series of videos going viral across TikTok, user ‘redprintsrising’ took control of a sandworm while dressed in Fremen attire and ventured into an AMC cinema, much to the amazement of moviegoers.

In one video, the cosplayer is filmed from an overhead perspective riding on a OneWheel Pint that easily resembles a sandworm from Dune, albeit much smaller.

After going from outside of the theater with ease, the cosplayer managed to get his sandworm inside the theater, further impressing cinema fans.

The man showed off his skills further by navigating the area without crashing, clearly having complete mastery of the worm as he steered it into the theater’s hallway and even the concession area.

Of course, fans in attendance couldn’t help but begin taking photos and filming the spectacle and users online were equally as stunned by the stunt.
