inXile’s long-awaited Clockwork Revolution got a fresh new trailer, weaving a bit of story about a heist gone wrong before supernatural timey-wimey stuff kicks off.

Now set for a 2027 release, Microsoft has confirmed that this game will be an Xbox console exclusive, signifying a change in their cross-platform strategy, similar to the newly Xbox exclusive Gears of War E-Day.

The trailer blurb reads:

Change the past. Control the future.

When your gang’s heist goes sideways, you’re thrown back in time and discover your reality has been altered by the ruthless Lady Ironwood. In this first-person steampunk RPG, you’ll wield a powerful device to travel between past and present, rewriting the future of the city you call home—and changing the course of history however you see fit.

The game looks to have some of the tone and feel of BioShock Infinite, though it’s perhaps more deliberately off-kilter with its characters and scenarios that you’ll face.. There’s a somewhat dystopian looking clockwork world that you get to tear apart through the use of some crazy time travel shenanigans. You’ll be able to change the past, leading to a thoroughly different present. It all looks pretty great, if you ask me.

With the launch of Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 today, Activision has teased what’s coming next in both a mid-season update and in the next season.

First off, Season 2 Reloaded adds a brand new core 6v6 multiplayer map for Modern Warfare 2. We know nothing about it, but we do have the image below to whet our appetites:

The addition of a brand new 6v6 map to Modern Warfare 2 will be welcomed by fans who feel the game has suffered from a lack of content in comparison to Call of Duty’s extraction mode DMZ and battle royale Warzone 2.0. Indeed, Modern Warfare 2 players reacted negatively when Activision revealed Season 2 includes two “new” maps: Dome and Valderas Museum. Dome is a remake of Dome from Infinity Ward’s 2011 game Modern Warfare 3, and Valderas Museum was playable in the MW2 beta before failing to make the launch for some reason.

Also coming with Season 2 Reloaded is a new raid episode and new unannounced multiplayer modes.

Looking even further ahead, we have our first tease of what’s in store for Season 3 and beyond. The much-loved, small-scale Gun Fight mode from 2019’s Modern Warfare returns to multiplayer with new maps each season, Activision said. Also coming to Warzone is the popular Plunder mode. And perhaps of greatest interest is confirmation of Warzone Ranked for the first time.

Sony has confirmed that, as we all suspected, Cosmic Smash is being revived for PlayStation VR2.

Just for a quick bit of background, Cosmic Smash initially launched all the way back in 2001. On its release, the game tasked players with traversing a futuristic subway-style map, with each ‘stop’ on the line challenging them to clear blocks at the end of a long room within a certain amount of time. This was all done by using a ball and racquet, offering players an experience somewhere between Breakout and squash.

Now, 22 years later, the game is being brought back and reimagined for the PSVR2. This upcoming release is known as C-Smash VRS (the VRS stands for “VR” and “versus”) and is being developed by RapidEyeMovers along with VR veterans Wolf & Wood (which is known for VR games such as The Exorcist: Legion VR and Hotel R’n’R). While there is currently no release date for C-Smash VRS, the developers are releasing a PS VR2 demo, which will be available from 23rd March. In a PlayStation blog about this upcoming release, game director Jörg Tittel stated this demo will include both online play and a solo training mode.

“I cannot wait to show you a virtual reality we could have only dreamed of until now,” Tittel shared, while also promising a full release date will be announced “soon”.
