OneState update 1.1

Independent developer ChillBase has released the first major update for OneState after its full release this spring.

Their popular online social roleplaying added new content with brothers / actors Daniel and Louis Moncada, famous for their role as “The Cousins” from Breaking Bad.

The new 1.1 update “Under Pressure” adds a new “Dos Caminos” storyline that follows both brothers in-game as legendary criminals that open the door to a more dangerous side of the city.

“I’m excited to join forces with OneState, the open world Social RolePlay immersive mobile game. Now you can drop in the LA style city map with my skin character and become one of the most influential figures in town,” said actor Daniel Moncada. “The question is do you want to be the friend of The Cartel? – See you soon!”

Louis Moncada added, “I’m very excited to join the ChillBase family on this amazing game. Can’t wait for everyone to see the final product. It’s amazing!”

ChillBase founder and CEO Matvei Lipatnikov also said, “We’re constantly expanding OneState and creating new opportunities for players. This update adds a whole new layer of advanced gameplay for our clans and gangs.”

To hype up the big update, ChillBase hosted a two-day offline event at Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles where they had street artist Chris Riggs transform a vehicle into a large-scale art installation inspired by the game’s universe. The car was showcased at the RASA Festival, and got a lot of attention.

The second day visitors were invited to participate in an interactive detective quest. By scanning a QR code, they got entered into a digital experience where they could choose their own character role just like in OneState.

After this players had to search for clues around and inside the vehicle, and upon solving the mystery, they got a Gold Ticket that can be redeemed for a custom OneState burger at Pier Burger, located directly on the pier.

Here’s a rundown on the new content, plus a new trailer:

The Dos Caminos update stands apart as a focused cultural moment built around two instantly recognizable brothers, two connected in-game paths, and a new layer of criminal storytelling.

Version 1.1 provides the stage with the addition of the Moncada brothers today. Developed together with Rocks production, the collaboration brings Luis and Daniel Moncada into OneState as figures players can recognize, follow, and build a story around.

The first release of the Dos Caminos update provides players the chance to unlock both brothers and two exclusive outfits: Grim Specialist and Silent Professional.

Luis Moncada and Daniel Moncada arrive in OneState as legendary criminal-world figures and recruiters, opening the door to a more dangerous side of the city. Their presence is designed to feel narrative-first as they are introduced as characters who invite players into a world of pressure, loyalty, ambition, and high-value opportunity.

Version 1.1 “Under Pressure” also introduces Rocks Production, a new clan-level production system built around synthetic diamonds as a high-value black market commodity.

Players move through an end-to-end cycle that begins with raw material extraction in the Laboratory, continues through multi-stage processing and equipment chains, and ends with cooperative delivery runs across the city.

For the first time in OneState, clans receive a complete production economy that functions as its own operational vertical. The Laboratory becomes a shared workspace that multiple gangs operate near one another, creating tension without direct competition for the same resources. Operators manage equipment, control queues, monitor efficiency, and track performance through public clan dashboards, member leaderboards, and 14-day history. Success becomes visible through payouts and the progression of the clan’s workspace, where storage changes as production grows.

Delivery turns production into risk. Up to four players can take part in cooperative transport runs, with the host carrying the cargo and teammates riding together in the vehicle. The more batches a crew decides to move in a single run, the longer the route, the higher the exposure, and potential rewards. “Under Pressure,” coordination becomes the difference between profit and collapse.

The update also introduces the Thalmer Trading Platform, a new city landmark and OneState’s first proper player-to-player marketplace. Set inside a skyscraper with the atmosphere of a high-stakes business expo, the platform allows players to trade vehicles and weapons directly with one another. Ownership now carries resale value, turning vehicles, equipment, and market timing into part of the city’s wider economy.

For serious gangs, Syndicate Contracts add another layer of clan activity. These special assignments ask gangs to deliver high-demand goods and vehicles in exchange for Honor Points and major payouts. The system creates new strategic pressure inside clans, were members decide what they are willing to sacrifice for collective progress and where gang hierarchy is shaped by contribution to shared goals.

OneState

Beyond the criminal-business vertical, Version 1.1 expands cooperative role-play with the Mobile Med Unit, the first two-player cooperative job for the medic faction. During a shift, two paramedics deliver medical supplies to local pharmacies and respond to emergency reanimation calls across the city, earning bonus rewards for saving lives along the way. The result is a more active, human side of city service gameplay: two medics, one ambulance, and a city full of trouble.

Players will also discover three new motorcycles that will be available for the first time in this update. Each designed around a different fantasy of movement through the city: extreme speed, timeless classic style, and rugged adventure spirit. Available through in-game events and the official website, the motorcycles support full customization at Tuning Shops, giving players a new angle on the city and a new form of self-expression on the road.

OneState recently launched its full 1.0 version globally on both iOS (via the App Store) and Android (via Google Play).

Instagram will stop bombarding teens with the same kind of obsessively unhealthy content https://gaming.vmondeika.com/instagram-will-stop-bombarding-teens-with-the-same-kind-of-obsessively-unhealthy-content/ https://gaming.vmondeika.com/instagram-will-stop-bombarding-teens-with-the-same-kind-of-obsessively-unhealthy-content/#respond Tue, 02 Jun 2026 22:09:18 +0000 https://gaming.vmondeika.com/instagram-will-stop-bombarding-teens-with-the-same-kind-of-obsessively-unhealthy-content/ [ad_1]

Instagram has a well-documented problem with how it treats teenage users, and Meta is finally taking a more concrete step to address it. The company announced it is testing a new feature on Instagram designed to stop teens from being repeatedly served the same type of content in Explore, Feed, and Reels.

The announcement is part of a broader global rollout of tightened teen account protections across Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger.

The evidence against Instagram’s algorithm has been building for years

Researchers set up fake teen profiles on Instagram and found that liking just one fitness-related post was enough to completely change what the algorithm recommended next. The Explore tab quickly filled up with weight-loss tips, extreme dieting content, and images of heavily edited body types. The pattern repeated across profiles mimicking teenagers of different ages and genders.

According to Harvard researchers, Instagram’s algorithm actively draws vulnerable teens into a damaging cycle of negative social comparison, worsening body image, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders.

Most damningly, Facebook’s own internal research found that 32% of teen girls said Instagram made them feel worse about their bodies when they were already struggling. The platform knew this and kept going.

What Meta is doing to protect teens from harmful content

Meta acknowledges that content around nutrition, fitness, or coping with anxiety can be useful, but argues it should be balanced rather than served on repeat. The new feature being tested is specifically aimed at breaking that loop.

Separately, the 13+ content setting, first launched last October, is now expanding globally across Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. Nine out of ten teens have stayed within that setting since launch.

An independent assessment by online safety firm Alice found that teens in the default 13+ setting saw 68% less mature content than on a leading competitor’s teen experience. Those in the stricter Limited Content setting saw 96% less.

Meta also crowdsourced feedback from hundreds of thousands of parents who rated over 15 million pieces of content. In a survey at the end of April, fewer than 2% of posts were flagged as inappropriate by most parents. The stricter Limited Content setting is also coming to Facebook and Messenger later this year.

Meta is taking its “13+” content settings for Teen Accounts global. The company said today that the setting, which it likens to a movie rating, will now apply by default to teenagers across Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger worldwide, extending a system it first introduced last October in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada. According to Meta, nine in ten teens have stayed in the default setting since that launch rather than seeking to change it.

The idea is to shape what shows up for a teen by default. On Facebook, the new 13+ setting is designed to hide content Meta deems inappropriate for teens in Feed and Reels, and to limit teens’ interactions with Profiles, Pages, Groups, and Events that mostly post such material.

On Messenger, it restricts teens from opening links to that content or chatting with accounts that primarily share it on Facebook. A stricter option called Limited Content, already available on Instagram, is due to arrive on Facebook and Messenger later this year.

Meta has leaned on parents to calibrate what “appropriate” means. The company says hundreds of thousands of parents have rated more than 15 million pieces of content, and that in its most recent survey at the end of April, covering parents in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada reviewing recommended Facebook posts, fewer than 2% were judged inappropriate for teens by most parents.

The framing draws on the Motion Picture Association’s public guidelines, though Meta is careful to note that the MPA is not rating or endorsing any of its content.

Alongside the rollout, Meta said it is testing a way to stop teens being served the same kind of post over and over on Instagram. Content about nutrition, weightlifting, or coping with anxiety can be useful, the company said, but is better balanced than shown repeatedly, so it is trialling limits on how many such posts appear in a row in Explore, Feed, and Reels.

It is a quiet acknowledgement that the problem with a recommendation engine is not only what it surfaces once but what it surfaces relentlessly.

To check its own work, Meta commissioned Alice, a safety firm formerly known as ActiveFence, to run adversarial testing against the settings. By Alice’s account, Instagram Teen Accounts in the default mode saw 68% less mature content than an unnamed competitor’s teen experience, rising to 96% less in the stricter Limited Content mode.

The assessment flagged two gaps, including that “car surfing,” a newer viral trend, was not yet restricted the way “subway surfing” already was. Meta said it updated its policies and that the fixes were retested before publication.

The expansion lands against years of pressure on Meta over how its apps affect young users, from the shelving of an “Instagram Kids” project to a steady drip of teen-safety features. The figures and the favourable audit are Meta’s own, and the company frames the announcement as progress. Whether parents, regulators, and the teens themselves agree is the part no press release decides.

Total War: Warhammer 3 director confirms “new content” is on the way https://gaming.vmondeika.com/total-war-warhammer-3-director-confirms-new-content-is-on-the-way/ https://gaming.vmondeika.com/total-war-warhammer-3-director-confirms-new-content-is-on-the-way/#respond Mon, 01 Jun 2026 22:55:30 +0000 https://gaming.vmondeika.com/total-war-warhammer-3-director-confirms-new-content-is-on-the-way/

Creative Assembly has reached out to Total War: Warhammer 3 fans, promising that details about “new content” are on the way.

Total War: Warhammer’s game director, Rich Aldridge, opened up about “why we are where we are” in a new video update, and gave a brief – but frank – assessment of the team’s progress to date, as well as reveal that we’ll find out more about the studio’s post-launch content in April 2023.

Message from Rich Aldridge.Watch on YouTube

“We knew that we needed to get Immortal Empires to you in the best possible state, and that’s where we focused all of our efforts last year,” Aldridge said at the start of their five-minute statement (thanks, PC Gamer).

“Looking forward, I think we’ve got a really exciting year,” Aldridge added. “There’s going to be new content, bug fixing, quality of life improvements, taking on-board everything that you’re reaching out and telling us. I daresay some of this is going to hopefully be on your Wanted list, but I also think there’s going to be a few nice surprises there, too.”

The team is reportedly “finishing up with [its] final touches” on that first unspecified “piece of new content” and will be sharing it with the community this “passion project” “come April”.

“A lot of steps are needed in creating a DLC, and I’m sure you’re aware of that,” Aldridge explained. “Starting with the creative spark, development, but much goes on behind the scenes. Everything that we need to get looking and feeling just right before we can showcase and release it to you all.”

Alridge further added that the studio plans to “deliver two more exciting experiences also later this year – so one in summer, and one in the winter” – and confirmed that patches will also be rolled out in between this new content, too.

“We want to be as concrete as possible, but in doing so, we need to be in that position before we can communicate it to you. We don’t want to disappoint, we want to excite. We’re passionate about what we make, and we want to make great content for you to enjoy for years to come.

“We’re moving as quickly as we can on this, so please do bear with us even if it doesn’t always look that way at times. I’d really appreciate that.”

Developer Fatshark has delayed Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s upcoming Xbox Series X/S release, saying it has made the decision to spend the next few months solely addressing fan feedback after the game “fell short” of expectations.
