Brazilian strawweight and UFC star Polyana Viana says she’d like to do cosplay walkouts but the UFC won’t allow it.

Polyana Viana returns to the octagon this weekend for UFC on ESPN 51, where she’ll face off against Iasmin Lucindo at Las Vegas’ UFC Apex. The bout’s set for Saturday, August 12, and will be aired on ESPN and the streaming service ESPN+.

In addition to her prowess at mixed martial arts, Viana is also well known for cosplaying some of her favorite anime characters. Every so often, the strawweight shares photos of these cosplay endeavors on Instagram, one of which shows her decked out in garb inspired by Naruto’s Konan.

While Viana would like to see the two worlds collide, she recently revealed that UFC has strict rules when it comes to walkouts.

UFC star says cosplay walkouts are prohibited

When asked by MMA Junkie if she’d consider walking out wearing cosplay if it was allowed, Viana revealed that she’s actually asked to do so several times in the past.

Viana told the reporter through an interpreter,

“I’ve tried so many times, and I’ve actually asked to come in with a bandana. They’ve never allowed it. I wanted a cape… I’ve tried with like a blank bandana. I can’t. Apparently, Naruto is a brand that does not allow it or something like that. I’ve tried so many times. I’ve asked. They never let me do it, but if I could, definitely I would.”

It’s unfortunate that the organization’s rules prevent the UFC star from living out her anime cosplay dreams. But she’d probably be at home in the wrestling world, given how often WWE and AEW fighters dress up as their favorite pop culture characters.

Charli D’Amelio has stunned fans with her Snow White cosplay for Halloween this year, resulting in her being hailed as a “princess.”

While Halloween isn’t officially until the 31st, many are celebrating the spooky holiday early to cash in on weekend festivities.

Celebrities are no exception; social media is already awash with costumes as big names across the globe jump online to show off their outfits.

Amongst those embracing Halloween is TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, who took to Instagram to share her stunning Snow White cosplay — and her fans have consequently crowned her as a Disney “princess.”

Sporting Snow White’s iconic dress from Disney’s 1938 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Charli completed the look with a long black wig, red heels, and even a little bird prop.

Her take on Disney’s first-ever princess has been well received, the Instagram post garnering already over 189,000 likes in just an hour.

Fans took to her comment section to share their excitement over the cosplay, calling Charli the “prettiest princess” they have ever seen.

“Petition for [Charli] to play snow white in the Disney remake,” one person wrote. Another said, “No matter what costume and outfit [she] wears, everything always looks perfect.”

Charli also showed off her Snow White cosplay with two videos on TikTok, where the reception was equally positive.

One excited viewer commented, “OMG I can’t breathe, she looks so beautiful,”

A Mortal Kombat fan has shared an impressively detailed cosplay of the series’ ravenous and terrifying Mileena.

Mileena is one of Mortal Kombat‘s most recognizable characters, serving as a villain and Kombatant in various games since her debut.

Based on her popularity, it’s no wonder fans would want to cosplay as her. However, her form-fitting outfits and that iconic demon mouth present quite the challenge.

That’s why it’s all the more impressive when someone is able to pull off an accurate Mileena cosplay, such as this one that was recently shared on Reddit.

Mileena cosplayer impresses with scarily accurate smile

Reddit user silverberryfrog shared several pictures of their impressive Mileena look, which feature both the character’s distinct mouth as well as the mask she often wears to hide that horrific feature.

The teeth are obviously the focal point of any maskless Mileena look, but the rest of the outfit is equally impressive.

This particular cosplay is based on Mileena’s default appearance in Mortal Kombat 11, in which she appeared as a DLC character. silverberryfrog’s look is pretty spot on with its asymmetric cut, purple gloves, silver gauntlets, sharp nails, and more.

The most significant difference between the cosplay and the actual design is the hair. While this particular Mileena look wears a bob with short bangs, the cosplayer chose a wig with slightly longer hair and longer bangs.

This was an intentional change, as silverberryfrog mentions in a comment that “I decided the little baby bangs did not translate well to my face.”

Fortunately, the cosplayer’s efforts did not go unappreciated.

“Those teeth are genuinely terrifying and I mean that in the best way possible lol,” said one Reddit user. Given Mileena’s canon appearance, that’s a pretty big compliment.

Others praised the cosplayer’s attention to detail, particularly Mileena’s sashes and gauntlets.

While the recently released Mortal Kombat 1 has proven controversial due to its pervasive microtransactions, a messy Nintendo Switch port, and more, fan works like this show that the Mortal Kombat fanbase is still going strong.
