Gigabyte has announced a new AORUS ELITE gaming monitor lineup at Computex 2026, targeting different kinds of gamers with displays that can switch between sharper visuals and faster refresh rates.

The new series includes multiple OLED models, but the AORUS ELITE FM275K16P is the star of the show. This 27-inch monitor features a 5K Mini LED panel with a glossy finish and 218 PPI pixel density, which is unusually sharp for a gaming-focused display. Gigabyte also says the monitor uses 2,304-zone local dimming, which should help with contrast and HDR control.

Gigabyte wants one monitor to do multiple jobs

The FM275K16P’s main trick is Multi Mode support. Users can switch between 5K at 165Hz, 4K at 220Hz, and QHD at 330Hz, depending on whether they want maximum sharpness or faster gameplay. That makes it more flexible than a typical high-resolution gaming monitor, especially for users who want one screen for work, streaming, movies, and competitive gaming.

The monitor also gets AI Super Resolution, which Gigabyte says is designed to sharpen upscaled images. That feature is exclusive to the FM275K16P in this lineup.

The OLED models focus on speed

The rest of the AORUS ELITE lineup uses fourth-generation Tandem OLED panels with a RealBlack Glossy surface and up to 1,500 nits of HDR peak brightness.

The AORUS ELITE FO32U24GP is the top 32-inch OLED model in the lineup. It supports 4K at 240Hz and 1080p at 480Hz. It also gets DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, offering up to 80Gbps of bandwidth. For users who want a smaller OLED option, the FO27Q28G brings a 27-inch QHD panel with a 280Hz refresh rate.

The FO27Q54G is where Gigabyte appears to be going after the serious esports crowd. It is a 27-inch QHD Tandem OLED monitor that can hit 540Hz at QHD and 720Hz at 720p. That puts it up against ASUS’ ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and AOC’s Q27G4KDP, both of which are also built around the same QHD 540Hz and 720p 720Hz dual-mode idea.

This combination makes the monitor appeal to players who want esports-level speed without moving to a lower-quality panel. Pricing and exact release dates have not been confirmed yet.

Gaming monitors have spent years chasing one goal: higher refresh rates. Asus just pushed that race into new territory with what it calls the world’s first OLED monitor built specifically for esports players.

Unveiled under the ROG banner, the new Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace combines a compact 24.5-inch panel with a staggering 540Hz refresh rate, bringing OLED’s rich visuals to a category that has traditionally favored speed over image quality. But that’s not the only unusual display Asus announced. The company also introduced a color ePaper monitor designed for productivity, reading, and low-fatigue viewing. It’s an odd pairing on paper, but both products show how display technology is moving beyond traditional LCD screens.

OLED finally enters the esports arena

For years, competitive gamers have relied on TN panels because they offered the fastest response times available. The trade-off was always image quality. The new XG259QWPG Ace appears to challenge that compromise. Its 1080p OLED panel delivers a 540Hz refresh rate and an ultra-fast response time while retaining the deep blacks and vibrant colors OLED technology is known for. Asus says the latest-generation panel also improves brightness, color volume, and longevity compared to earlier OLED implementations.

What’s particularly interesting is how much of the monitor’s design was reportedly shaped by feedback from professional players. Simple additions, such as measurement markers on the stand and quick-access display settings, may seem minor, but they’re exactly the kinds of details esports athletes obsess over when dialing in tournament setups. The result is a monitor that feels purpose-built for games like Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, and Overwatch 2, where every frame matters.

Asus wants to replace your second screen

The bigger surprise might be the ZenScreen Color ePaper MP13UC. Unlike a conventional portable monitor, this 13.3-inch display uses color ePaper technology, similar in spirit to what you’d find on premium e-readers. The difference is that Asus is positioning it as a secondary productivity display rather than a device solely for reading books. With a high-resolution panel, touchscreen support, and a smoother refresh rate than traditional ePaper screens, it could be an appealing option for reviewing documents, reading research material, or keeping reference notes visible throughout the day.

The absence of blue light and screen flicker is another notable advantage, especially for users who spend hours staring at displays. In an era when people regularly work across two or three monitors, a low-fatigue secondary screen starts to make surprising sense.

One product is built for split-second reactions. The other is designed to reduce screen fatigue. This shows Asus is experimenting with two very different visions for the future of displays — and both are far more interesting than yet another standard LCD monitor.

Sony is finally setting release dates for two PlayStation accessories that have been in the “coming soon” category since their debut last year. The company has confirmed that preorders for its FlexStrike wireless fight stick and its unusual 27-inch gaming monitor with a built-in DualSense charging hook will begin this June, with both products arriving later this summer.

For fighting game fans and desk-bound PlayStation players, these are arguably two of Sony’s most interesting hardware experiments outside the PS5 itself.

FlexStrike arrives just in time for fighting game season

Sony’s first wireless fight stick, the FlexStrike, will officially launch on August 6. The accessory is set to arrive alongside the growing excitement around Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, giving competitive players a new premium controller option for PS5 and PC.

Unlike traditional arcade sticks that can be cumbersome to carry around, Sony is pitching FlexStrike as a tournament-friendly device. Preorders open on June 12, with a $200 price tag that places it squarely in enthusiast territory. That’s not cheap, but fight stick players have historically shown a willingness to invest in specialized gear if it offers reliability and convenience.

Sony thinks your gaming setup has moved beyond the living room

The second accessory may be even more intriguing. Sony’s new 27-inch gaming monitor is clearly aimed at players who have shifted from couch gaming to dedicated desk setups. The display features a 1440p IPS panel with variable refresh rate support and can hit 120Hz when paired with a PS5 or PS5 Pro. Connect it to a capable PC or Mac, however, and the refresh rate jumps to 240Hz.

What makes the monitor stand out isn’t necessarily its specs, though. It’s the small built-in charging hook designed specifically for a DualSense controller. Sony will open preorders for the monitor on June 5 through PlayStation Direct and Best Buy in the U.S., with a retail price of $350. The display is scheduled to launch on August 27 in the U.S. and Japan.

Both products signal Sony’s growing interest in gaming beyond the traditional console-and-TV setup. Whether you’re grinding ranked matches in a fighting game or building out a dedicated PlayStation desk station, Sony clearly wants a piece of that ecosystem too.
