A cosplayer and foam sculptor has shown off their cosplay of Batman from The Dark Knight Returns, and it looks like a classic comic drawing brought to life.

Batman cosplayers are not an unusual sight. The character’s popularity translates to every other medium, after all, be it TV shows, movies, or action figures.

But there are some genuinely impressive lengths cosplayers will go to to nail the perfect Batman look.

One such cosplayer shared their photos to Reddit and is wowing users with a terrifying Batman ripped straight out of the Dark Knight’s most iconic story.

Cosplayer shows off Batman costume straight out of The Dark Knight Returns

Reddit user karrver_fx shared the images to the r/cosplay subreddit, showing off a terrifyingly accurate Batman from The Dark Knight Returns.

The look includes the Frank Miller-designed Batman’s signature stocky build and a menacing sneer.

The costume is the work of Shelly Karrver of Karrver Studio Creature FX & Design. They shared a behind-the-scenes look at the suit on their Instagram, showing the impressive amount of foam latex and detail work that went into building the costume.

Karrver is no stranger to terrifying and impressive monster builds, including Spider-Man’s latest ally Rek-Rap and Throg, the God of Thunder. Reddit was equally impressed, discussing the accuracy of the costume and the stunning work that went into it.

“Absolute unit” one user commented, “It’s almost like a figure. Incredible job.”

“What?? It’s a costume??” another added, “I thought [it was] a sculpture.”

“In a way, it is a sculpture,” Karrver responded, “We sculpted the mask and chin, but, yes, there is a person Inside this suit!”

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns #2

Frank Miller and Klaus Janson’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns redefined the character.

Released in 1986, The Dark Knight Returns is a seminal Batman story written by Sin City creator Frank Miller with illustrations by Miller and Klaus Janson. The four-issue series redefined Batman as a dark vigilante figure.

The Dark Knight Returns is largely credited with restoring the darker aspects of Batman after the 1960s series made camp such a prominent aspect of the character, and as such, has inspired many Batman projects. Its tone laid the groundwork for 1989’s Batman, while its costume and armored Batsuit were direct inspirations for Ben Affleck’s take in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition mod returns lost Cerberus Daily News https://gaming.vmondeika.com/mass-effect-legendary-edition-mod-returns-lost-cerberus-daily-news/ https://gaming.vmondeika.com/mass-effect-legendary-edition-mod-returns-lost-cerberus-daily-news/#respond Tue, 02 Jun 2026 06:03:51 +0000 https://gaming.vmondeika.com/mass-effect-legendary-edition-mod-returns-lost-cerberus-daily-news/

Mass Effect’s Legendary Edition is a brilliant remaster of BioWare’s sci-fi original trilogy, perfect in almost every way.

But for hardcore fans, a few niggles remain. There’s the unfortunate loss of Mass Effect 1’s Pinnacle Station DLC – sadly gone forever, as its original development code became corrupted – and also the lack of Mass Effect 2’s Cerberus Daily News.

For the uninitiated, Cerberus Daily News snippets originally appeared on Mass Effect 2’s main menu screen as short in-universe news reports, fleshing out the game’s wider galaxy with ongoing stories and further detail.

Access to the ongoing Cerberus Daily News stories, as well as various pieces of ME2 DLC, was part of the game’s $10 Online Pass (remember those?) which EA included with new copies of the game at the time in a bid to keep people playing, and dissuade second-hand sales.

Now, a fan mod has collated and edited these reports into in-game emails which Shepard can read at their computer, with new reports sent between priority missions (thanks, PC Gamer). It’s a neat way of getting the best of these storylines in-game, without the faff of scrolling through the Mass Effect 2 main menu.

My favourite Cerberus Daily News storyline involved the introduction of the raloi, an unseen avian race new to the galactic scene. News updates chronicled how intrigued shuttles first visited the raloi’s homeworld, while a subsequent update detailed a raloi delegation’s tentative first arrival on the galaxy’s Citadel.

As a Mass Effect fan, I loved hearing about another new race – especially at their own moment of first contact, something unique for the original trilogy.

(In Mass Effect 3, a Spectre report notes that the raloi subsequently deserted the Citadel to return home and destroy all their high-tech equipment in orbit in a bid at self-preservation, hoping the Reapers would see them as too primative to yet destroy.)

As for that other niggle? Fans have created a mod which brings back a version of the game’s Pinnacle Station DLC, too.

Rayquaza, a Legendary Pokémon from Generation III, is making its long-awaited return to Pokémon GO. It returns for a brief event whilst Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon are making their debuts in the game.

This all centers around the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas event. The Primal creatures will then be available for the Global version at a later date.

Primal Rumblings, as the event is being titled, will occur Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. and last until Friday, February 24, 2023, at 10:00 p.m. local time. Here’s what you need to know about it.

Naturally, the five-star raid will only be Rayquaza and yes, it can be shiny. The Mega Raids during the event will be for Mega Latios and Mega Latias, both of which can be shiny. Keep in mind that, unlike other events, this is a fairly short event. It will only last two full days whereas most last about a week or more.

Wild encounters will include the following:

  • Treecko (can be shiny)
  • Torchic (can be shiny)
  • Mudkip (can be shiny)
  • Wurmple (can be shiny)
  • Whismur (can be shiny)
  • Numel (can be shiny)
  • Barboach (can be shiny)
  • Grovyle
  • Combusken
  • Marshtomp
  • Absol (can be shiny)

Raids will also change briefly for the event. Here are the one-star Pokémon available:

  • Treecko (can be shiny)
  • Torchic (can be shiny)
  • Mudkip (can be shiny)

Three-star creatures will include:

  • Grovyle
  • Combusken
  • Marshtomp

As a result, it’s imperative you get in and get these creatures. It may be a very long time before Rayquaza and others rejoin the game. Be sure to check in during the event to see what you can find!
